Happy Easter Table 2013

Image
Happy ! I realized when putting my Easter tablescape together, how uplifting the spring colors were to my soul!  Even though I love the intense colors of the Valentines Day spread and a few more other tables I have yet to share with you, the light colors I chose for our Easter scape were happy colors! We had no Easter Egg hunt at our house this year (although it wasn't that long ago that we still did that), we had no melting chocolate bunnies on little faces (yet), and this year we had no extended family around our table.  But what we did have was a peaceful day to reflect on what the Lord did for us. Easter day is set aside so that we can recognize and honor that Christ did what He said He would do. He laid down His life to pay for our crimes against God, conquered death and rose again so that all who believe in Him has His promise of eternal life with Him and God our Father!   I praise God that He loved us so much to do this for us. A Touch of Easter

This Easter we welcomed family and new friends to our table. I wanted the table to be fun, yet have a touch of elegance so that everyone who graced us with their presence would feel special.  And of course, we had to have a bunny near by. My centerpiece was a vase that I purchased at Pier 1.  I then inserted a smaller vase inside, then filled the gap with inexpensive jelly beans. It looked really cool from the outside. Then I place purchased bouquets of tulips inside the inner vase. And this was the result. I had some left over tulips so I placed them in my newest vase, also found at Pier 1. Everyone got an Easter Egg surprise at their place setting. Yellow and sherbet colored napkins were embraced by my new favorite napkin rings. Clear bowls were used for the salad so that we could see the colorful plates beneath it. Everyone enjoyed a good meal and good fellowship. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed our Easter tablescape....

Happy Easter!!

After a full weekend of Easter activities, we are winding down our Easter celebrations. We started our Easter with quiet Friday's at work, followed by a special dinner with Rick, Donna and Ryan Saturday afternoon, a potluck Easter breakfast at church with oh so many wonderful dishes this Sunday morning, and a simple early dinner here at home today. We have stopped counting our calories and are counting our blessings instead. Dave and I have so many blessings to be thankful for. We have our jobs, a roof over our heads, food on our table and family and friends who love us and pray for us. Most of all we are thankful that Jesus Christ came to this earth, fully God and fully man, willingly gave up His life for us, so that we may have eternal life, living in the awesome presence of our God. Happy Easter!!
