Happy Easter Table 2013

Happy
!

I realized when putting my Easter tablescape together, how uplifting the spring colors were to my soul!
Even though I love the intense colors of the Valentines Day spread and a few more other tables I have yet to share with you, the light colors I chose for our Easter scape were happy colors!

We had no Easter Egg hunt at our house this year (although it wasn't that long ago that we still did that), we had no melting chocolate bunnies on little faces (yet), and this year we had no extended family around our table.

But what we did have was a peaceful day to reflect on what the Lord did for us. Easter day is set aside so that we can recognize and honor that Christ did what He said He would do. He laid down His life to pay for our crimes against God, conquered death and rose again so that all who believe in Him has His promise of eternal life with Him and God our Father!

I praise God that He loved us so much to do this for us.

I also praise Him that He instills in each of us desires both eternal and internal.

I hope you enjoy one of the pleasures of mine that He has given me a desire to do.

Our Easter table.

Using soft hues of blues and greens along with other pastels made this tablescape a soothing one.

As I did not boil and color eggs this year (a first) I used Jelly Belly jelly beans in my egg cups.
I layered two pastel napkins together, pink and yellow, to pull those colors out of the die cut table runner I used.

Grandma's buffet table was decked out with brighter hues .

As was the china hutch.

Oh my, we only got one shot of the hutch!!

These cabbage roses were the center piece...

...nestled into a Beatrix Potter box.

The colors of the box were my inspirations for this table

On one side of the box sits an ivory bunny,

...and on the other side, this antique replica pastry server.  I bought this years ago and have never had the opportunity to use it.  Love that I could use it on this table, but I'm still waiting to use it in a tea some day.

This cute flower votive holder is perfect for a spring table.

And a robins nest is a sure sign of spring.

The place setting was simple and soft.

Jelly Belly jelly beans are the ONLY jelly bean I'll eat... and eat, and eat...

These hand made votive holders from Root Candle Factory were a nice shade of pink and the perfect spring flower for this table.

Layers begin with Pier 1 chargers, ivory plates (I don't remember where I got those) and blue luncheon plates from Pier 1 also. The napkins are from Bed, Bath and Beyond, the napkin rings are again from Pier 1. The cute little egg cups are from the dollar bins at Target. The glasses are a new purchase this year. I got those at Marshalls

I hope you enjoyed our Easter table.  I'd love for you to show me your table!
